DC Comedy Bootcamp - Graduation Show

“Just one laugh, that one subject that makes you smile, takes you away from your moment of stress and makes all the difference in the world.” -Clifton Hoffler, US Army Veteran and Comedy Bootcamp Alum

Overview: Comedy Bootcamp is the first stand-up comedy class for veterans, service members, and military family members. Led by professional comedians, the seven-week course develops the comedy writing and performing skills of participants through hands-on instruction and group feedback. Classes culminate with a graduation show at Drafthouse Comedy Theater, with each student delivering a five-minute set to friends, family, and supporters from the DC area. These shows, which typically sell out, provide an engaging outlet to hear the authentic and hilarious voices of our area's veterans and military family members.

When & Where: The graduation show for our Summer 2017 DC Comedy Bootcamp course is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23rd at Drafthouse Comedy Theater (1100 13th St. NW, Washington, DC 20005.) Doors open at 6:30PM and the show starts at 7PM.

Tickets: General Admission tickets are $25 online and at the door. Proceeds from ticket sales directly benefit the Armed Services Arts Partnership, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

About the Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP): ASAP helps veterans, service members, and military families reintegrate into their communities through the arts. ASAP promotes expression, skill-building, and camaraderie through seven- to ten-week classes in stand-up comedy, improv, storytelling, and creative writing. ASAP then partners with local colleges, arts organizations, and performance venues to offer its graduates continuous opportunities for artistic and personal growth. In the process, ASAP provides participants with transferable life skills, a renewed sense of purpose, and healing benefits, and strengthens ties between veterans and their communities through the arts. To learn more visit asapasap.org
